The City of Miami Beach continues water quality sampling following last week’s incident where Jaffer Well Drilling contractors hit a 42-inch wastewater force main on Michigan Avenue, just north of Lincoln Road. On Thursday, March 5, the city issued a No Contact with Water Advisory to avoid recreational water activities along Biscayne Bay and the western portion of Miami Beach’s waterways.
As of today, the advisory has been lifted from all areas except the waterway adjacent to Parkview Island Park. Staff will continue daily sampling until all waterways have clean results on two consecutive days. The city is working closely with all governmental regulatory agencies to ensure extensive measures are being taken to protect public health and the environment.
